Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge Not Working. Have a mechanic check the oil level. Throughout 57 years of building the world’s best competition instruments, this meter movement has been the engine powering the machine that sets the benchmark.

This is actually not too uncommon of an inquiry. This puts a signal of 0 ohms to the gauge. Last year autometer cobalt oil pressure was sporadic.
Starts Working, For A While At Least.
Scared me to death at the time as i thought i had no oil pressure (although the warning light wasn't lit). The gauge had a problem previously where it just stopped working. Generally sender units have one or two wires.
I Turned My Car On To Check The Oil Pressure And The Gauge Was Peggedpast 100 Psi.
It just pegs out, like a bad ground or something. At idle i have about 10psi, sometimes a little lower. Connect wire from ignition switch to ignition ( i ) terminal on back of gauge.
You Will Thank Yourself Many Times Down The Road.
Most times, just getting the vehicle out and driving it will solve the issue. I got the lighting hooked up and the volt gauge, but i can not get the oil pressure gauge to work. These are identified with the letters “s”, “i”, and “gnd”.
It Is A 2 1/16 Mechanical Gauge.
Trying to determine if i have a defective oil pressure sender, gauge, or no oil pressure (doubtful). I bought a autometer electrical oil pressure gauge. They all look awesome, and the volt/water temp gauges work perfectly.
My Readings All Exceed The Service Manual's Specs.
If i hook up the stock gauge i have oil pressure. I was able to get the nut off the old sending unit so i reinstalled that one. 60 psi @ ~1,200 rpms;
